Work

What we repair — Viking kitchen appliances

One manufacturer, the full line. Here is what comes through the St. Augustine bench.

Cast-iron grates and burner caps laid out on a towel on a granite island, with a stripped stainless rangetop behind
Everything we open, opened.
range

  • Preheat takes far longer than it used to
  • Oven runs but will not heat at all
  • Door locked itself after a self-clean cycle and will not release

  • Fresh food side is warm but the freezer is cold
  • Compressor runs without stopping
  • Ice sheet building on the back wall of the freezer
  • Water pooling under the crisper drawers

Viking dishwasher repair

Built-in dishwashers. Wash performance, drainage, leaks, door seals and the flow losses that show up as a dirty upper rack.

  • Upper rack comes out dry but dirty
  • White film on glassware that will not wipe off
  • Water standing in the sump at the end of a cycle
  • Cycle runs for hours and never finishes
ventilation

  • Hood runs but smoke still crosses the kitchen
  • Blower rumbles, whines, or vibrates the cabinetry
  • Only the low speed works
  • Lights flicker or one lamp position is dead
outdoor

Viking outdoor grills and built-in gas

Built-in and cart grills, side burners and rotisseries. Ignition, gas delivery, burner replacement and coastal corrosion.

  • Flame is low and yellow across every burner
  • One burner is dead while the others light
  • Flames lick unevenly along the burner tube
winecellar

Viking wine cellars and undercounter refrigeration

Undercounter wine storage, beverage centres and refrigerator drawers. Temperature stability, ventilation, seals and glass doors.

  • Cabinet will not reach its set temperature in summer
  • Upper and lower zones have drifted together
  • Condensation forming on the inside of the glass
  • Unit runs constantly and the room feels warm beside it
Scope

Viking equipment only.

If the appliance carries another maker's badge we will say so on the phone rather than take the call and improvise.

Trade boundary

The whole list is kitchen equipment

Viking is a kitchen appliance manufacturer, and kitchen appliances are the whole of this trade: professional ranges and rangetops, wall and speed ovens, built-in refrigeration, wine storage, dishwashers, ventilation hoods and built-in outdoor grills.

We are not a heating or air-conditioning company. No furnaces, no air handlers, no heat pumps, no mini-splits and no conditioned-air ductwork — the only duct this bench works in is the extraction run above a kitchen hood.

Every category above sits in a kitchen or an outdoor kitchen. Nothing on this page is a heating or air-conditioning service, and no page on this site should be read as offering one.

Kitchen appliances only — no heating, air conditioning or conditioned-air ductwork.

Published bands

What does each of these repairs cost?

A band, not a single number: the firm figure is written down after the appliance has been opened and measured, and a range is what you can act on before that. Parts and labour together, fitted, for every category on this page.

Questions people ask before booking

How much does a repair from this list cost?

The visit is a flat $80 diagnostic, credited toward the repair once you approve it. The repair itself lands in the bands published on this page — igniter or burner assembly $210–$560; oven thermostat or heating element $180–$610; control board or touch panel $410–$980; refrigeration fan or defrost system $240–$640; dishwasher pump or control $240–$670; compressor or sealed-system repair $970–$2,640 — so $80 to $2,640 covers the work described here, parts and labour together. The firm number is written down after the appliance has been measured, never before.

Do you work on anything other than Viking?

No — one manufacturer, the whole line: ranges and rangetops, wall ovens, built-in refrigeration, wine storage, dishwashers, hoods and outdoor grills. If the badge on the door says something else we tell you on the telephone, and you are not charged for a visit to find that out.

Do you repair heating or air conditioning?

No. Viking here is the kitchen appliance manufacturer, not a heating trade — the work is ranges and rangetops, ovens, built-in refrigeration, wine storage, dishwashers, hoods and built-in grills. Furnaces, air handlers, heat pumps and conditioned-air ducting are a different trade altogether, and we say so on the telephone rather than charge $80 to find out.

What is warranted after the repair?

90 days on our labour and 365 days on the parts we supply. Genuine OEM parts. A return visit on the same fault inside the term carries no second diagnostic and no trip charge.

Not answered here

Ring the bench and describe the symptom. A question that cannot be answered on the telephone is a question that needs a meter on the appliance, and we would rather say so than sell a visit to find out.

Owner verdicts

Verdicts across the whole line

4.7 out of 5 from 61 customer reviews. Every one below is a single visit, in the words of the person who paid for it.

Read all of them

Condensation kept forming inside the glass door every humid afternoon and pooling on the bottom shelf. He replaced a gasket that had gone hard at one corner and adjusted the door catch so it seats properly now.

Nolan F.2026-06-19

The upper oven would not hold a broil. He found a split in an element you could only see with the back panel off, replaced it and checked both terminals for heat damage while he was in there.

Hector R.2026-06-20

Lights worked but the fan would not start at all. He replaced the speed control and the switch harness behind it. Fixed, though the second visit for the board dragged on longer than I had been led to expect.
